ابرشهر، نام قدیم نیشابور

ابرشهر، نام قدیمی‌تر نیشابور بوده است که در شکل‌های گوناگون، و به عنوان نام استان و ناحیه نیز آمده است. برخی آن را به معنی شهر بالا و برخی دیگر منسوب به عشایر «اپرنی» -از اقوام «داهه»، بنیان‌گذاران حکومت اشکانی- می‌دانند. اما به توجه به اشاره‌ی بندهش به نام «اپرنک شهر» و اهمیت این ناحیه در سرزمین پارت، گونه‌ی دوم درست به نظر می‌رسد. از حدود سده‌ی چهارم و پنجم هجری به بعد، نام ابرشهر، مهجور شد و تنها، نام نیشابور که در دوره‌ی ساسانی پیدا شده بود، معمول گردید. این نام، صورت تغییریافته‌ی واژه‌ی مرکب از دو بخش «نیو» و «شاپور» است، به معنی شاپور خوب و یا شاپور نیکوکار، و آن باز می‌گردد به انتساب بنای شهر به شاپور اول، یا بازسازی آن توسط شاپور دوم.

Abarshahr was the older name of Neyshabur, which has appeared in various forms, and as the name of a province and a district. Some consider it to mean the upper city, while others attribute it to the "Aparni" tribes - from the "Dahe" tribe, the founders of the Parthian government. However, considering the mention of the name "Aparnak Shahr" by his servant and the importance of this region in the Parthian land, the second variant seems correct. From around the fourth and fifth centuries AH onwards, the name Abarshahr was abandoned, and only the name Neyshabur, which had appeared in the Sassanid period, became common. This name is a modified form of a word composed of two parts "Nyu" and "Shapur", meaning Shapur the good or Shapur the benevolent, and it goes back to the attribution of the city's foundation to Shapur I, or its reconstruction by Shapur II.

نخستین همایش ملی "شاهرود؛ شهر معلمان دین و اخلاق" روز چهارشنبه با حضور مشاور عالی وزیر فرهنگ و ارشاد اسلامی و استاندار سمنان در سالن همایش های دانشگاه آزاد واحد شاهرود برگزار شد.
